As a disciple of Jesus, I offer prayer & touch with love & faith in God. In the Bible, Peter says "If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised though Jesus Christ. To him be the glory & the power for ever & ever. Amen." (1 Peter 4:11). During a session, I pray the Holy Spirit fills us & for God's love to guide & flow through my hands for redemption, salvation, protection, sanctification, healing, comfort, wisdom & peace.
On the one hand, prayer & touch are so simple; can they still really bring practical help with life's difficulties such as illness, physical & emotional pain? With the infinite power of the Holy Trinity coming through them, yes indeed! Healing with prayer & touch is for those wanting more closeness with God, health, relaxation & well-being from the grace of the Lord. Recipients may experience pleasant sensations such as warmth & a felt-sense of God's presence strengthening their faith.
God gives each of us gifts. In the Bible, Matthew 10:1 says that Jesus gave his disciples authority over unclean spirits so they could drive them out to heal every disease & sickness. 1 Corinthians 12:7-9 says "But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom ... & to another the word of knowledge ... & to another faith & to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit". The more I learn about & lean into God, the more obvious it is His Ways of being helpful & in service to others, that shine through.
In John 14:12 Jesus says "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; & greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father."
